14th September 2003
I have just received word from Hamble that the foot washed up at Chapman's Pool near Swanage
definitely belonged to young Daniel Nolan. Police are working with tide charts etc to discover where Daniel went into the water and also to calculate when he died. As his foot was in relatively good condition it seems unlikely that the original police speculation that he fell into the River Hamble 17 months previously was correct. Whilst searching for Dan the remains of two other boys have been found. There are many unanswered questions.
Dan's devastated family now know that he is not coming home again. In time Dan's remains will be scattered in his beloved Hamble River.
My heart goes out to Dan's family and friends who have persevered relentlessly to find out what has happened to him. Police efforts which were unimpressive in the beginning improved considerably I am told. What a shame that prejudice got in the way of professionalism. There are big lessons in that.
God bless you Dan and your wonderful family and friends.

Graham Birdsall, editor of UFO Magazine has undergone emergency surgery following a brain haemorage. Graham was due to have another operation today (the third to date).
Our best wishes and our prayers are with Graham and his family and friends during this traumatic time.
It has been decided that the 22nd Leeds Conference (advertised above) will have to be cancelled this year.
LATEST ON GRAHAM BIRDSALL
Graham Birdsall had a seven hour operation on Tuesday (see below). Although the procedure was a tricky one taking a long time surgeons are confident that they have done a good job. We all wish Graham all the best I'm sure and a speedy and full recovery.

GRAHAM BIRDSALL
7th April 1954 - 19th September 2003
I have been sent news that Graham passed away yesterday.
Graham was a kind and generous man, a gentle giant with a heart of gold. His magazine UFO Magazine became the leading publication of its genre and a force to be reckoned with. Graham got respect and he will be sadly missed.
Graham died at 5.05 Friday 19th September. His wife Christine and his daughters were by his side.
Graham's funeral will be held at St Mary's church, Whitkirk, Leeds at 1pm on Tuesday 30th September.
Thankyou Graham for your dedication, enthusiasm and humanity.
MICHAEL (Mike) JAMES BENNETT
11th September 1953 - 29th August 2003
I write this with a heavy heart and a gentle tear. A good man and an irreplaceable friend of this site has passed away. Mike's dear wife Trish wrote to me yesterday to inform me that Mike passed away on August 29th at 13.15hours after suffering a massive bleed form an aneurysm that burst in his brain.
Trish added "He believed that your time on earth was time to learn and no matter how painful the process was when you finally "got it" you could move on to a higher plane. He really experienced a lot of pain in the last 9 days of his life. I hope you receive this e mail as this is only the second one i have sent. I know he would have wanted you to know.

Mike walked his walk. We had some wonderful communications. He was modest, kind and extremely knowledgeable. Mike helped me so much behind the scenes always ready to help with advice and practical help.
Here are some extracts from Mike's introductory letter to me:

"Your work is valuable and the more people that have access to the site the better it will be in exposing the dark side."
"I won't charge anything for assisting - I dont need the money and it's not the reason that I would like to help."

Mike was a healer and a proud husband and dad. His expertise with the mysteries of the computer and internet was invaluable to me. I never met Mike personally though we had planned to catch up before the end of the year.
My prayers and eternal gratitude are with you Mike, Trish, Ashley and all the rest of Mike's loved ones.
