Two lodges have closed in Midland. One of them was demolished to make way for a new shopping centre. The other, Friendship Lodge number 17 has also been decommissioned but is still standing. The building on the corner of Spring Park road and Poynton Road is opposite the law courts and Midland police station.
Recently a new Masonic centre building has been built on the cross roads of The Avenue and Leake Street. This grand building that towers over the rest of Midland is owned by masonry and incorporates a number of tenants.
I have no idea whether any of the tenants are freemasons but I know that one isn't.
The name at the top is the local Member of the Legislative Assembly, June van de Klashorst. Is it appropriate that an elected politician should have such a close tie to a worldwide secret society that has dubious links to corruption in other parts of the world? `
The 6th name on the list is the Midland Redevelopment Authority. Currently the shire of Swan is undergoing large-scale redevelopment including the new police headquarters, office blocks, hotels and marina developments. Is it appropriate that the Midland Redevelopment Authority should be housed in a building owned by a worldwide secret society that has been involved in local government corruption in other parts of the world?
Midland is fast becoming the home of many government departments who seem to think that they are arms of the Ancient Egyptian Dynasties. Please click here to see a constantly updated photographic gallery of their logos. Also included are pictures of other Australian bodies who seem to be similarly confused.
FOOTNOTE: June van de Klashorst was deposed at the February 10th local elections.
