Across St Martin's Place from the Church of St Martin-In-The-Fields, at the front of the National Gallery is a statue of George Washington. He gazes south-east across Trafalgar Square and Admiral Nelson, past Admiralty Arch and down Whitehall. 'ere your not looking at Perth are you Georgie Boy?' Besides his name the inscription also says: "Presented to the people of Great Britain & Ireland by the Commonwealth of Virginia 1921" ????? You will notice that the year adds up to 13. |

George Washington was a freemason. 12 of the 18 newly hung and rung Swan Bells in Perth Western Australia came from the church of St Martin-In-The-Fields.
